Just a decade ago there used to be a lot of chatter about finding oneself. It all died down. My life, personally, got extremely simplified, and the credit goes to me because I despite getting trapped into a complex psychosocial maze, that rearranges itself, chose to simplify my life making the maze ineffective. What I learnt in the process is that the control of minds and bodies of people in this country is in hands of entitled, irresponsible, incompetent, spoilt, depraved and sadistic assholes and it becomes truly heartbreaking when one contrasts it with how seriously people take their lives, relationships, religion, God and societal and rules and regulations. My enlightenment was two-fold, one was spiritual enlightenment which came about due to my efforts and studies and another was political enlightenment which was consequence of my spiritual enlightenment and which enlightened me about the real politics that actually controls the lives of people in this country and the world. It is what it is, and it has been like this since long before people of my age were born and I suppose even long before that too. The assumption that "life is suffering" which I came across after reading on Buddhism, however, is wrong. Life is only suffering for some people, for others they pass on their suffering and then there are others who do not suffer at all and who are responsible for orchestrating this suffering. The cure for your suffering is to stop suffering, I know that it sounds stupid but it's doable. Let your mind and body suffer but you have to stop suffering and by you I mean your self, your truest self. Before that you'd need to find your true self, which for a lot of people is buried within the rubble of psychosocial designs they have gone through and suffered throughout their lives. This is what was meant when the chatter about "finding yourself" was still alive a decade ago. This slavery people are under and the way the walls are closing in day by day, is a global phenomenon. In India it's worse because they are destroying any trace of remaining aesthetics and finer sensibilities and culture from lower stratas to deprive people from living with dignity with their culture and so that their culture can be ridiculed while oppressing, disarming people from a dignified resistance. You would have noticed that a lot of good music has mostly disappeared not only from India but from the world. This is because true artists have realised the slavery and those who still make music are either trapped and do it for survival or are groomed stooges. Suffering in life is acceptable to me, but I was baffled at how low the narrative was and the kind of individuals who had access and control of people. The kind of individuals who have access to people's minds and bodies in this country are the kind you won't allow even a hundred kilometres near your family, that's how sad the state of affairs are in this country. It is all strictly politico-economic and the main commodities are power, resources, sex and money. People who value truth and love fade when contrasted with the immense and irreversible omnipresent power and the absolute control the structure that rules over us has over people. The worst part however is not the criminality and corruption of this setup which unfortunately is also the providence, but entitled and senseless and totally needless, baseless and whimsical violence and incompetence.
